Grad Alums
I've been lucky to work with great grad students over the years.
Following are the grad alums who spent time working with me and my lab, ordered by relative recency.
John Barr was an EdS/PhD student in my lab at USU from 2018–2022. His growing professional interests eventually took him away from school psychology. John transferred to the combined Clinical & Counseling Psychology PhD Program at USU in Fall 2022. He is interested in teaching and supervising psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, and somatic symptom disorders, among other things.
Shelley Upton was a PhD student in my lab at Louisiana State University from from 2015–2017. When I moved to USU in January 2018, she stayed at LSU. Shelley completed a predoctoral internship with the Mary A. Rackham Institute at the University of Michigan and got a School Psychology PhD from LSU in 2020. Shelley worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at USU for a couple years and is now a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Psychology Department here at USU.

Tony Roberson was a PhD student in my lab at LSU from 2014–2017. When I moved to USU in January 2018, he also stayed at LSU. Tony completed a predoctoral internship with Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Services in Pennsylvania and got a School Psychology PhD from LSU in 2019. He did post-doctoral training while working as a School Psychologist with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in TX. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical, Health, and Applied Sciences at the University of Houston–Clear Lake.
Kelsie Hammons was a PhD student in my Lab at LSU from 2014–2015. After 1.5 years of school psychology training, she transitioned out of the lab to pursue social work training at the University of Arkansas. She is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at Riverstone Wellness Center in Arkansas.
Sarah Bolognino was a PhD student in my lab at LSU from 2013–2017. When I moved to USU in January 2018, she was already off on predoctoral internship. Sarah completed an internship with the Sarah A. Reed Children's Center in Pennsylvania and got a School Psychology PhD from LSU in 2018. She currently works as a school psychologist with the Guilderland Central School District in NY as well as a private-practice psychologist with Capital Psychology in NY. ▲
